Though it now lies dormant, Mount Vesuvius is an active volcano that has erupted fifty times before. When will it erupt again, and what could happen when it does?  To help answer these questions, Pixeldust created 3D animations and special effects, visualizing what destruction an eruption could bring to those living In the Shadow of Vesuvius. The Pixeldust team animated plate tectonics and geological movement of the region, and even reconstructed the city of Pompeii as it was in its glory circa 79 A.D.
