Our world has been changing in the past one year and new ways of living and interacting have started to become a new norm. COVID restrictions and lockdowns are making it difficult for people to interact in public spaces like we used to at conferences, retail stores, museums, concerts and other types of events and venues. A critical safe bridge is required between the users and these activities so they can be accomplished virtually in its best real world form as possible.

The Pixeldust virtual pilot experience has been engineered to bridge this gap and facilitate people around the world to start engaging and experiencing all above activities in a safe and efficient manner, in the comfort of their home or any other location around the world. At its core, its a webgl/browser based experience made with Unity and accessible across any windows and mac browsers on desktops. It is also easily adaptable to a VR headset experience using Oculus or other platforms.

The Technology features:
It’s an initiative to feature virtual meetings by recreating a conference world and exploring the different ways and means to interact with vendors and other attendees.
Before entering the virtual space, users have the ability to customize their virtual avatars to their liking or pick from pre existing ones that match their profile. Users are able to customize clothing, accessories, gender, race and many more elements.

It uses popular gaming technology features like multiplayer, chat and voice to interact with other visitors/attendees. They are able to interact with various elements in the virtual booths and explore videos and images. They are also able to interact with other visitors by seeing their virtual avatars and exchange information or initiate a voice/text chat. Users also have the option to initiate Zoom/Google meetings from within the virtual space.

The multiplayer system has the capability of housing more than 1000 concurrent users at same time. It benefits from Unity universal rendering pipeline that facilitates close to photoreal 3d worlds and spaces to interact within at lighting fast optimized speeds using web GL over a dependable internet connection. To facilitate large amount of visitors and have a reliable performance over multiple platforms PD relied on industry standard Photon Realtime Networking PUN for the multiplayer, voice and chat features that also easily integrates into multiple other external APIs and databases.
